Liga MB top team - Cojute (7-0) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat seventh ranked Santa Ana (2-7) 104-89. Cojute forced 19 Santa Ana turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Cojute especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American guard Jeremy Agosto (177-1997) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 49 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals. The other American import Nick Moore (198-1991, college: Alliance) contributed with 17 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Dominican forward Frankyn Batista (198-1999, college: Pace) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists for Santa Ana. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Cojute have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Santa Ana at the other side dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. Cojute are looking forward to face league's second-placed San Salvador at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Santa Ana will have a break next round. Bottom-ranked Chalchuapa is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to eighth ranked Santiagueno (2-5) 120-86. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican guard Victor Carattini (185-1992, college: PR-Bayamon) who helped to win the game recording 44 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Giovanny Martinez who added 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) during the contest. Naturalized Puerto Rican swingman Miguel Velez (185-1997, college: Hartnell JC) responded with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Santiagueno moved-up to seventh place. They outrebounded Fantasmas 46-22 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Metapan players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Fantasmas' players.
